WHAT IS THE JATC?
What is the RJATC?
The Richmond Electricians' Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, (RJATC) itself is made up of four representatives from Local Union 666, International Brothers of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and four representatives from the Atlantic Coast Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). All individuals who are accepted in the apprenticeship training program are placed to work for signatory contractors of Local Union 666 IBEW. All apprentices in the training program are required to complete 8,000 on-the-job training hours as well as 900 classroom related instruction hours.
The RJATC meets on a monthly basis to discuss and deal with the administrative issues of the training program. The RJATC is funded by a negotiated contribution that each contractor pays per man-hour worked.
