Requirements for Construction Wireman (CW) Program:
1- Valid Virginia Drivers License,
2- Resident within the Richmond region,
3- Social Security Card or Birth Certificate,
4- 17 years of age or older
Working in the Construction Wireman (CW) Program gives you the opportunity to work with the same contractors that the Apprentices are working with. Work reports are required to evaluate your job performances. CW rates are dependent upon the applicants experience and the type of job the CW is working on. Rates range from $10.26 to $13.19.
If a CW is interested in becoming an Apprentice, the CW can enter the program by:
1- Submitting the required information (school transcripts, etc), receiving a qualifying aptitude test score and interviewing with the Committee.
2- Working 4,000 hours and interviewing with the Committee.
The Committee makes the final decision of acceptance into the Apprentice program.
Prior to job placement, you are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
Applications are accepted at the JATC on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 9 am - 11 am and 1 pm - 3 pm.
*There is a $20.00 application fee.

CW2 2001 - 4000 Documented Electrical Construction Experience Hours $10.99
CW3 4001 - 6000 Documented Electrical Construction Experience Hours $11.72
CW4 6001 - 8000 Documented Electrical Construction Experience Hours $13.19
